Micky and the Motorcars

Jun 12

Micky & the Motorcars bring red dirt country & rock packed with road-worn, real-life anthems.
Rooted in a family tradition that blended cowboy poetry, Western swing, and road-worn storytelling, Micky and the Motorcars grew out of the Braun brothers’ early years playing shoulder-to-shoulder on stage in Idaho. After relocating to Austin, Micky and Gary Braun built the Motorcars into a touring institution, helping shape the city’s roots-rock and alt-country sound over nearly two decades on the road. With Long Time Comin’, the band leans into the grooves, harmonies, and lived-in songwriting that define their style, while welcoming new energy into the mix. Produced by Keith Gattis, the album balances familiar Motorcars grit with fresh textures, including a larger songwriting and vocal presence from Gary Braun. The songs move easily between rock-and-roll drive and quiet reflection, capturing loneliness, love, loss, and perseverance with empathy and restraint. It’s a record that sounds unmistakably like Micky and the Motorcars seasoned, human, and built to be heard from start to finish.
