Dr. Amy Pearson of Great Falls will discuss the ‘how-tos’ and benefits of backpacking in Montana’s Bob Marshall Wilderness in the free monthly Armchair Traveler Series talk.
Amy will show how to prepare for a backpacking trip, including what to bring and what type of conditions to expect. She also will share stories and photographs of backpacking expeditions along the Continental Divide Trail from Maria’s Pass to Roger’s Pass.
Amy is a writer and a teacher. She grew up on a farm in Northcentral Montana and earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from Arizona State University. She has worked for the Park Service, Forest Service, in the environmental non-profit sector, and now as a professor at Great Falls College-Montana State University.
